Beginning April 27th through May 18th, the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Office will be visiting area high schools educating seniors on the importance of voting. Students will also learn about the electoral process, get hands on demonstrations with the actual voting equipment used in Alachua County and most importantly have the opportunity to register to vote.
“It is critical for our future voters to understand the impact their one vote can have. Our democratic process is strengthened through participation and as voters it is our responsibility to participate”, said Pam Carpenter, Alachua County Supervisor of Elections.
The schedule is as follows:
April 30th Gainesville High School 8:30am until 1:45pm
May 7th Gainesville High School 8:30am until 2:40pm
May 10th Santa Fe High School 8:45am until 3:00pm
May 18th P.K. Yonge High School 10:30am until 2:45pm
The Supervisors’ Office has already visited Hawthorne High School and Newberry High School.
